Hosting Threatened Scholars

Scholars at Risk has compiled a “How to Host” Manual, to be published in Fall 2008, that provides information on funding, procedures and best practices for hosting scholars. SAR can provide advice in the following areas:

-Why Host a Threatened Scholar?

-Selecting and Inviting a Scholar to Campus

-Preparing to Welcome a Scholar to Campus

-Arrival and Adjustment

-How to Make the Most of a Visit

-Post-visit Planning

-Concluding the Visit

-Trouble-shooting: Dealing with Unforeseen Challenges

-Templates and Forms

-Resources for Host Institutions

If your institution is interested in obtaining a copy of the manual, please contact the SAR office beginning in Fall 2008 at scholarsatrisk@nyu.edu or +1 212-998-2179. SAR welcomes institutions to contact the office to share information and advice they may have about hosting scholars.
